I thought this video was pretty interesting. When you hear of a couple who is getting a divorce, you usually tend to try to help the woman cope with what she is going through. People don't try to help the man get through it as much, because we tend to think that men are less emotional, and move on faster. How divorces effect the children

I found an article that evaluated how a divorce effects the children. A survey was done in both Great Britain and America. There was a study done to compare the behavioral problems, and test scores in English and mathematics. Children whose parents were divorced were compared to children whose parents remained intact. For boys, the effect of separation or divorce was dramatic. Their behavioral problems and academic achievement was reduced by considering behavior problems, achievement levels, and family difficulties that were present before the families had broken up. Divorce did not seem to have quite as big as an impact on girls  but still did exist.

Marriage and Family: Divorced

My topic is based on family's  in which the parents are divorced. I chose this topic because more and more family's in America are getting divorced. It doesn't  seem to be as big of an event anymore. A lot of people say that divorce rates are growing because women are becoming more independent. Instead of worrying what will happen when they are alone, they are becoming motivated to get back up on their feet.
